Hunt for 'Dave', rogue repairman who forced pensioner to handover £170 in the West End of Leicester
Officials are searching for a trader who allegedly forced a pensioner to hand over £170 in return for house repairs which he never carried out.
The conman approached his victim in the street in the West End of Leicester and followed him home, where he pointed to the guttering on the man's home and told him it was in need of repair.
The man, who called himself Dave, offered to do the work for £170. He later demanded an additional £50 to cover the cost of repairs and became aggressive. The victim handed over £170 because he was scared of the man. The trader never returned to the house to carry out the work.
The city council believes the man returned to the neighbourhood a few days later and approached two other people, who both refused to have any work done.

The first victim was targeted in Fosse Road South on Friday, January 25.
The city council's trading standards team has released CCTV images of a man they would like to trace in connection with the incident.
He is white, in his 50s, stocky and had brown hair. He was wearing a flat cap and polished black shoes.
Officials are also keen to trace a white Vauxhall Combo van – registration number VN06 KNM – which they believe may be connected to the man.
Assistant city mayor Sarah Russell said: "The suspect in these incidents initially appeared to befriend his victims, but later became aggressive and demanded money for work which was never carried out.
"We'd urge anyone who recognises the man to get in touch as we don't want anyone else to be caught out in the same way."
Trading standards manager Ronald Ruddock said: "This is a shockingly brazen incident.
"We advise people to avoid doing business on their doorstep, and not to get involved if they have any doubts at all."
