Police are looking at similarities between this cash-in-transit robbery and similar raids in the city in the last few weeks
The latest incident took place at about 3.20pm on Tuesday in Blackbird Road when a security guard saw two men in a balaclavas running towards him. The guard ran into a bank and the suspects then got in to a vehicle and drove away empty handed.
The suspects made off in a green Renault Laguna which contained at least one other person.
Detective Constable Tim Smith is investigating this incident, he said: “We are looking at the similarities between this incident and other cash-in-transit robberies in the city in the last few weeks, there is nothing at this stage to suggest that the incidents may be linked but we’re keeping an open mind.
“We are liaising with security companies who deliver cash and advising them on security and the steps they can take to reduce their chances of being targeted.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Dc 614 Tim Smith by calling on 101.
