SANDERGRAM: A showcase of Leicester's creative responses to one the greatest photographers of the 20th century can be seen fro now until April 12.

Newly-opened at Leicester People's Photographic Gallery, the sandergram exhibition features work inspired by German photographer August Sander, following a recent retrospective of 175 of his works at New Walk Museum.

As part of the sandergram project, the exhibition showcases 150 portrait photographs, consisting of 75 images taken by Leicester College learners as a part of their student photography courses alongside 75 taken by members of the public.

As well as working with their tutors, the students received creative practical workshops from contemporary photographers Gareth McConnell and Harry Borden and had an insight into the work of Sander during a unique discussion with his grandson, Gerd Sander.
