Stars descend on Leicester to see Finding Neverland at Curve
Celebrities gathered in Leicester last night for the press performance of the musical Finding Neverland at Curve – including comedian James Corden, who arrived 20 minutes late.
The star of BBC comedy Gavin and Stacey and Sky celebrity sports quiz A League of Their Own had been delayed on the M1 on his journey to Leicester from London.

As his chauffeur-driven limousine pulled up outside the theatre in the city's cultural quarter, the rest of the invited audience, including actress and television personality Claire Sweeney and actress Andrea Riseborough, were watching the start of the performance.
Mr Corden strode into Curve, posing briefly for photographers before heading into the auditorium.

Finding Neverland is a feel-good musical for families and grown-ups and tells the story behind author JM Barrie's global hit children's story Peter Pan.
Adapted from the Oscar-winning film Finding Neverland, the production has been brought to the stage by celebrated Oscar and Tony Award-winner, Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, who was also at last night's performance.
The show is expected to transfer to the West End after the season ends on October 18, with a move to Broadway on the cards.
See tomorrow's Mercury for a full report of last night's show and our critic's review.

“I recognised the producer, Harvey Weinstein and I think I saw James Corden rushing out. London 2012 cyclist Darren Kenny was there too. There were other faces I recognised but couldnt put a name to them. In all, a good show. The children were fantastic. Not as "hollywood" as expected but I didnt go there for that. I my opinion, an entertaining end to day.”

“Dear LM, the 'celebs' I recognise are Claire Sweeney, as a result of a reality programme (prior to that I had no knowledge of her). The other being James Condon as the straight man in Gavin & Stacey. All the other 'celeb' pics are of people unrecognisable people, we'd be better off giving the seats to those that don't get the theatre experience. His chauffeur-driven limousine got held up, such hardship for the Ernie Wise of Gavin & Stacey.”

“I hope he enjoyed it more than my friend and I. There is absolutely no faulting the spectacular special effects and staging but I found the music woeful and unmemorable and the 'plotline' seemed to wander about a great deal. Of course the children were charming but then they would be whatever they were in.”
