What an uplifting article about James Mason. ("Animal-lover James finds his dream job", Mercury, January 2).

Animal cruelty and neglect is deplorable and it is heartwarming to hear of a teenager who works so enthusiastically for animal welfare.

He certainly deserves to have "landed his dream job". It also makes a pleasant change to read something positive about a teenager. James is a fantastic example to his age group, and the rest of us for that matter! Starting and maintaining his own animal sanctuary is a great achievement.

With such obvious dedication to animals, he'll certainly have a very satisfying and rewarding future.
