A shop-fitting business has gone into administration, with the loss of 17 jobs.

Linwood Retail and Leisure Installation, of Granite Close, Enderby, counted health food chain Holland and Barrett and The Co-operative among its clients.

But the firm was badly affected by the retail slump and staff learned yesterday they were being made redundant after directors called in the administrators.

Tyrone Courtman, partner at administrators Cooper Parry, said: "With the economic climate, they found their position particularly challenging.

"They were not making any profit and resolved there wasn't any future in trying to carry on the business.

"Unfortunately, the company has ceased trading and between 15 and 17 people have been made redundant."

Mr Courtman said the firm was thought to owe about £500,000, but he said it was too early to say how many creditors there might be.

He urged any potential creditors to contact him at Cooper Parry's Leicester office.
