Belgrave ABC middleweight Josh Laurent knows a repeat performance will take him through to the next round of the ABA championships.

Laurent will meet Joe Burdett (Geddington) in Kettering on Friday in the Midlands semi finals – and the 23-year-old from Oadby will go into the fight in confident mood having won their previous two bouts.

He was set to box Kyle Haywood on Leicester Railwaymen's ABC's show, but the Earl Shilton southpaw had to pull out through work commitments.

Belgrave ABC coach Alex Allardyce hands debuts to 13-year-old Ali Meesan and Rinay Kotecha, 15, on a show in Corby on Friday, March 2 and has high hopes for both boxers in the sport.
