Kasabian left ‘buzzing’ after Radio1's 'intimate' gig in Leicester
They are more used to packing out huge arenas, but yesterday Leicester rockers Kasabian played an intimate gig in front of just 100 fans at a student bar.
Ahead of a sell-out gig at the O2 Academy last night, the lads played a live morning acoustic session at the University of Leicester.

Staged by Radio 1, the Live Lounge session saw the band play two songs as part of DJ Fearne Cotton’s show, which was broadcast live from the university.
Only the speediest of fans snapped up one of 50 pairs of tickets to the exclusive gig, replying quickest to a Facebook message posted by the university’s students’ union, the day before.

Housemates Nick Collins and Will Roderick, from Evington, who are both in their final year, were star struck by the band.
Nick, 20, said: “It’s ridiculous that a band you see on TV and hear on the radio all the time, are here, in our student bar. It is so surreal.”
Will, 21, said: “This is going down as one of the best moments of my uni life. I feel so privileged.
“It is great to have Fearne broadcasting her show from here – it is really interesting to see how a radio show all works.”
Frontman Tom Meighan, guitarist Serge Pizzorno, bass player Chris Edwards and drummer Ian Matthews performed Rewired from their new album Velociraptor! and a melodic cover version of Video Games by American songstress Lana Del Ray.
The band said nothing could beat a homecoming gig.
“We are proper buzzing to be playing at home,” said Tom.”
Guitarist Serge said: “It is brilliant to be back in Leicester. I just live two minutes up the road and got the bus here this morning, which was nice.”
