The company, which trades as 3DX-Ray, manufactures three-dimensional X-ray scanners for both the security and industrial sectors. Customers include baggage scanners at airports.

The company, in Hayhill Industrial Estate, has seen strong orders from security customers, helped by the success of a product aimed at scanning small vehicles for explosive devices.

Chairman Brian Emslie said: "While there has been an improvement in new order intake in the year to date across both sectors, the board is mindful that the company is still dependent on securing one or two significant contracts to achieve profitability in the current financial year."
