Sue Daniels, of the Leicestershire Vegetarain/Vegan group (Mailbox, May 28), poses the question: "is there an alternative to support the slaughter" of millions of animals for food? She does not tell us what the alternative is!

Please be practical Sue, men and women are carnivorous by design.

The figures you quote clearly indicate that you are in a tiny minority. So enjoy your nut cutlets but leave the rest of us to enjoy our steaks!
