His first goal for City was just reward for a superb display. Always looks to get forward and provide City with attacking width.

Rating: 8

5. Wes Morgan

Didn’t have much to do as Huddersfield were under the cosh for so much of the game.

Rating: 7

15. Michael Keane

City fans have not been able to see much of the youngster during his loan but he demonstrated why he is so highly rated at Manchester United.

Rating: 8

3. Paul Konchesky

Untroubled defensively and picked out Knockaert superbly for the Frenchman’s first goal.

Rating: 8

24. Anthony Knockaert

A stunning, match-winning display, capped by two superb finishes. Huddersfield will be glad to see the back of him.

Rating: 9

4. Danny Drinkwater

Bossed the midfield with his neat and tidy passing. Has become an integral player for City.

Rating: 8

16. Matty James

He is getting better and better since he came back into the side. Looks assured on the ball and adds a physical element to City’s midfield.

Rating: 8

7. Ben Marshall

Started the game brightly and will enjoy having Wood as a target for his crosses. City will be hoping his injury is not serious.

Rating: 7

Combined superbly with Wood. The arrival of the new striker will ease the burden on Nugent and bring out the best in him.

Rating: 8

39. Chris Wood

A superb debut from the big striker. He took his goals well and set up his new team-mates unselfishly with his hold-up play.
