Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson is hoping the hamstring injury picked up by Paul Konchesky on Tuesday is not serious.

The left-back was replaced at half-time in the 1-1 draw with Leeds United at the King Power Stadium as a precaution after the player felt a tightening of a hamstring.

Pearson said the City medical staff had caught the injury early enough to avoid a serious problem. But they will assess the former England international ahead of Saturday’s visit of Sheffield Wednesday before deciding whether he is fit enough to play.

Should Konchesky, who underwent a scan yesterday, miss out then Pearson is expected to opt for Lloyd Dyer to play left-back after the winger replaced him against Leeds, or Jeff Schlupp will come back into the squad.

Schlupp is currently the subject of negotiations between City and Manchester United about a possible move in the summer after impressing during a training period with United.

“His hamstring is tight and we will get it scanned,” said Pearson. “Hopefully we have caught it in time.

“He has been a very consistent player for us so, hopefully, it will not be too big a problem. But we have to wait to see the results of the scan.”

Pearson said his side deserved the last-minute equaliser which rescued a point for them after another frustrating night.

Michael Keane scored his first league goal for the club in the fourth minute of added time to prevent a fourth defeat in six games for City, and Pearson praised the spirit of his side for fighting on to the very end.

“Things don’t always go the way you want them to but I’m pleased with the desire of the players to get something out of the game,” he said.

“I think the players deserved it. It was a tough game for us, conceding an early goal in the second half, and they made it difficult for us.

“We worked the goalkeeper. He has made some very good saves, and they made some good blocks in the second half at which point it looked like it probably wasn’t going to go for us. But we persevered and got something out of the game, and that’s a good illustration of what it takes.

“Spirit is what you need if you want to make any progress. It’s disappointing not to win. We do need to find more wins at the moment, but that’s the nature of it.

“We hung in there and our players showed some good spirit. There are always going to be people who are not happy but I’ll stick by my players and I know they’ll get on with it.”

“Pack The Kop - The best way to ensure there's a good atmosphere at The KP is to pack The Kop with home supporters. The club could help to promote this by reducing ticket prices in this area.”

“Leicester City Ladies Under-16s reached their seventh consecutive City & County League Cup semi-final with a 4-0 win over Ibstock United.

Has Mr No Personality sent scouts to review the potential in this side ? At least they would make the bench more attractive and would certainly bring much excitement to the Foxes fans on this Saturday ? Dare we hope for an overwhelming draw again ? a scintillating goalless even result or can we hope and dare I dream again of a fabulous one nil own goal success . The excitement generated by NP in his after game review would reach no bounds if the Foxes pulled another point out of the bag ? Fingers crossed everyone - it might be our day ? Dare we hope for an Owls puncture on the way ?”

“Maybe my wordings could be better but I do acknowledge the Fantastic effort from L1 and pockets of us in other areas but maybe that's why it's so frustrating. I must be yearning to turn back that clock and all the vocals be together again in the KOP...Maybe I need to be in L1?

Aah the Floodlight Climbers at Oxford.... Taking over Orient and Luton....Getting pulled over on our way to Southend with our van full of booze and having our biscuits taking from us by the plod but not the beer.. Happy Days...

They can't take that away from us Kap!

    Keep the Faith!”

“Too true I don't like him Alan. It's a pity there isn't a competition in which you get to interview the guy. If I got the chance you could run a book and take bets as to how long he'd stay put when I started firing questions like "A lot of people are saying that you are rude and arrogant and you care not a bit for the supporters of this club"”

“Ghost - I don't get to many away games these days, just two this season, and you're right the make up our travelling support is different. It always has been. I'm just bantering and always respect your views even if I don't always agree. You just always get down on our home support and I wish to defend them.

Vivid memories of away days when I travelled extensively...the floodlight climbers at Oxford, the Krishnas at Portman Road after the king of penalties Paul Cooper worked his magic. Pasty wars at Plymouth and seeing Russell Osmans wilfred at Swindon before coming home in a van with a convicted murderer seeing his first match in 17 years. Also getting a toaster thrown at the bus after we derailed Middlesboroughs promotion in the final days of Ayresome Park.

Life has moved on for me but I cherish the memories of those away days. Far more exciting than home ties and I agree with you that the 'in it together' mentality really meant something special.

No hard feelings from this black kettle.”

“We make a lot of noise when playing away, away fans generally get behind they team more when playing away, I think it's the scenery is different and you want to unsettle the home side, hey fans getting behind their side gives the team extra incentive, just a shame that a small minority on here don't take this on board”

“In My humble opinion... It's a no brainer really, bring back Shluppy. Leave Lloyd on the bench to come on as an impact sub.

What we do need, but Nigel refuses to address it.. Is midfield General. Until he gets a decent player, we are always going to expose our underbelly to teams. Whether they are top of this league, or the bottom of it.

I think some of you are being a bit dumb ridiculing the squirrel. He is entitled to his opinion as well as anyone else on this forum. OK he doesn't have much time for Nigel Pearson. So what" that's his opinion whether it be right or wrong.

As for our supporters being drowned out by Leeds supporters. We sure as hell drowned them out when we scored the leveler. I bet they could hear us in Leeds haha!! However after saying that, it was two points dropped. Better luck against the Owls I hope. I think we will score a pile of goals as a result of our inability to put away lowly placed teams. With the exception of Boro.
    Foxes never quit!!
    Three points Nigel please.”

“Fans' chants. Yes, the racket made by the Leeds supporters reminded me that the north east corner of the stadium is not the best place for away supporters. The corner (any corner) is horn-shaped and this seems to amplify the sound. They'd be better off in the east or west stands, where the sound would dissipate. Also, the chanting of our own fans is split, mainly between the east stand and The Kop, making it less effective.”
