Nigel Pearson has vowed that any decision over the future of winger Max Gradel will be made in the best interests of Leicester City.

The 22-year-old is currently on loan at Leeds United and has expressed his desire to remain at Elland Road until the end of the season.

An initial one-month stay has already been extended until January and Leeds boss Simon Grayson wants to keep Gradel for longer as he has made a big impact at the League One club.

Gradel has also expressed his desire to stay in Yorkshire but City boss Pearson, who has already ruled out a permanent transfer, pledged that any decision he made would be in the best interests of City.

"We will review it nearer the time," Pearson said.

"The important thing is he is playing games. He is a player who wasn't as close as he would like to getting first-team appearances for us this year, but of course a lot can happen between now and January.

"I am not going to make a decision that suits Leeds, it will be a decision that is in the best interests of Leicester City."

Gradel has become a crowd favourite with the Leeds fans, who recently chanted 'sign him up' as a plea to their club's board, and the player admits he is enjoying the experience.

"The season didn't start well for me but I'm playing first-team football and I want that to carry on," said Gradel.

"When January comes we'll see what happens but everything's going well and, as long as I'm playing, I'm happy.

"I hear the fans and it's very nice but this isn't up to me.

"I'm a Leicester City player and I've heard the Leicester manager say that I'm part of his plans, but I want to play first-team football and I'd go anywhere to do that."
