Show Racism the Red Card chief executive Ged Grebby said it was vital to have the support and co-operation of managers such as Pearson to tackle the issue of racism in football.
"The input from professional footballers, managers and other sporting role models in educating young people against racism is invaluable," she said.

“How do we know the nationality of the owners? We dont know a thing abo0ut them.
Consider this. Russell King picked up a bloke from beever street and forwarded him as a member of the qatari royal family, during his successful attempt to buy Notts County in 2009. It was all a lie, there is no regulation in the sport and abuse is everywhere.
With regards to racism, i dont think there is a problem in english football. I am from a minority and have never experienced anything at any game ive been to. This is an extremely tolerant country and sometimes that gets taken advantage of.”

“Typical Dob & Plies..
an artical on Racism and you both start an argument about diving?
Yorkshire,, Naming someone Chinese when they are Thai surely is not racist. If it is we do have a massive problem. And why not promote being English... Too many English promoting other folk for me. Not all English are bad and should not be hammered any time they have an opinion.
Lots of burger and Lasagne suppliers from France, Poland and Ireland ripping us off with ingredients that are not allowed in our food chain.. The french would have banned all our supplies to them by now but what do we do... Yep, tell us all that it's ok it won't harm you...
Blimey There I go on about something not a lot to do with the story!”

“You are the Ref Question.
A coloured player kicks an opponent. You as the ref take his name and send him off for violent conduct and show the red card.
As he see's the red card the player turns to you and shouts "you're racist ref you are" you're racist, racist"
As you at no time said anything racial, what would you expect the F.A. to do?
What would have happened to you if you had said a racist remark?
Well done Nigel for getting involved and showing that here in Leicester there is strong opposition to racism.”

“Good on yer Nigel. All decent people will be behind you 100%.
Ad for diving, I agree dobranich. Not only should refs take action, but if the ref misses it and it can be seen on a video replay, the player should still be suspended. We've all seen it happen, and some teams and players seem to regard creative diving as part of the game.
Trouble is refs are sometimes fooled, they are only human, and it can be game changing. So I think any team that can be shown to have benefitted from a dive that changes the results of a game should have double the number of points they gained by it deducted. Managers should be able to appeal if they think they have lost out because on opposing player's dive, and if the authorities agree the perpetrators and their club should be severely punished.
Forest are one of the worst offenders I've seen recently, they must do their training at the swimming pool. :)”

“"How am I a racist?"
Plies, if you really need this answering, I personally find your insistence on calling our Thai owners Chinese even though you know they are not a racist insult.
You may not, but surely it's quite easy to see why others do!
You had some very interesting points on club ownership and the model in Germany, but sadly you negated any credence you had by making uneducated anti "anything not English" comments to back them up.
If you are genuinely from an ethnic minority background, I would have hoped your opinions would be less narrow than this.
Anyway, back on topic. Racism of any firm has no place in football and we hound do everything we can to eradicate it. Pearson strikes me as a very respected person in football and hopefully he can conribute positively to the campaign.”

“agree diving is a plague. Send em off let em appeal. Replays generally show a dive clearly. No appeal 3 match ban. failed appeal 5 match ban. The managers and owners would go spare it would all soon be a thing of the past. Club fines and internal disipline would follow very quickly. Get rid of the cheats it's as bad as drugs in cycling.”

“how am i racist? im from what would be described as an ethnic minority. This racism issue keeps getting brought back, but as has been stated below, diving is a bigger problem - it changes results. Ronaldo is the worst diver of all time, hes in a league of his own. This has been spreading like a disease throughout football. My solution is an independent panel issues 10 match bans to anybody who they deem to have cheated. Ronaldo would never play another game due to suspension.”

“a worthy cause indeed. better start with Plies he's one thru and thru. Another cause would be red card the divers. No debate no argument just send them off. I saw Rooney dive a while back and no one was within 2 yards of him. just be brave even at their home ground....Fat chance.”
