Supporters started queuing outside the stadium during the morning for the event, which began at 1.30pm. The queue stretched through the store, out through the Family Stand and right round the Fanstore back towards the rear of the West Stand.
The players were due to attend the session for one-and-a-half hours but spent three hours meeting delighted City supporters.
