Leicester City must put together a momentous run of results if they are to stand a chance of reaching the play-offs after their 3-2 defeat at Watford last night.

David Nugent scored two stunning goals to take his tally for the season to 12.

But it was not enough as Adrian Mariappa, Sean Murray and a late winner from substitute Craig Forsyth condemned City to their second consecutive away defeat.

City started the night in 12th place on 42 points after 30 games, exactly the same position Reading found themselves in last year.

The Royals started their last 16 games with two uninspiring draws but then won nine out of 10 games, including eight on the trot, clocking up 35 points and losing just once as they surged from the pack to book a play-off spot.

They lost in the final against Swansea City, but City are going to have to at least match their incredible run this season if they are to stand a chance of reaching Wembley.

City take a break from league action on Saturday when they travel to Premier League Norwich City in the last 16 of the FA Cup.

“Sven gave contracts to 34yr. old left backs who hadn't a prayer of making the team. Is Berner still on the staff? Every thousand paid to the likes of Ball and Johnson was a young player unsigned. The harm the 'Great Sven' (Foxfan 1) caused this club is not yet over. Nigel is still expected to pay Sven's prices, five million for a centre-half? Rediculous, and shades of Taylor and Panicbyee. This is a season of recovering stability. We now have the manager to build the team and the club. We would be very foolish to throw this away. Like Huddersfield have just done. Lee Clark lost three out of 55, AND found Jordan Rhodes. He's been sacked. Football is not a funny game.”

I think you are being a bit harsh on Nigel Rachel. He can only prepare the lads for the game, he can't be out there playing as well. To many expectations I believe, as we went out one of the favourites to win this league. You and a lot other supporters, will just have to be patient lass. Because it won't happen overnight but it will happen. Let's look forward to Nigel and the lads tipping Norwich out of the cup, and keep the faith hun X”

    “"foxyrod and Norman09"

Nice to see constructive views for a change on here and not just ****ging them off and that is true supporters, no doubt you spend your hard earned money on watching the team from the stands and not the ears to the radio fans.
Now for the Norwich game could not get a ticket due to the allocation in the blue army end but i have struck lucky, because i am going in the Norwich end "yes hate to admit it sitting with friends who are norwich fans " hey it would be nice to gloat if we win has i am staying overnight, if we don"t then i may fake illness when, buying a round.

The romance of the FA cup is still there and whilst it is the season is not over

As for the play-offs I AM LEICESTER TILL I DIE, and so are you”

“we had 54% of possesion which aint bad away from home , we had 8 attempts on target compared to watfords 5 , plus another 8 shots off target, compared to watfords 4 , so we were the better side , but often in football the better side doesnt always win . against coventry away, southampton at home , watford at home and crystal palace away we had less chances than the opposition and won undeservedly and people on here didnt moan then . we just have to take the rough with the smooth . on saturday we deseved to beat cardiff , and did . last night we deserved to beat watford , but lost . i think if danny drinkwater had not got injured we would have come out in the second half and won it. but as we say in poker circles wudda, shudda, cudda, just gotta keep patient, and keep believing and keep supporting our boys instead of bleating like sheep(and trees) to be fair to nigel pearson in the games weve lost ,against hull, donny, barnsley, brighton and watford , they have all been by only one goal, no thrashings, no embarressments, just single goal defeats and four of them were away from home , and in one we had ten men and in another we had 9 men . when we lost to donny , the difference was billy sharp, who NP did his utmost to sign and though hes landed at southampton instead , i dont think donny will beat us again in a long while, even if they stay up. and after barnsley beat us NP signed their best player drinkwater.”

“We talk about us supporters being frustrated with results and the lack of stringing together 5 or more wins together. Even back to back wins in this league.

There would be nobody more p!ssed of with the results than the owners, Nigel Pearson, and the players themselves. Nobody goes out onto the paddock to loose.

It's true we are no where near good enough to even consider playing in the Premier League. I can see us stuck in this League for at least another 2 seasons before Nigel has his own team ready to win automatic promotion.

We were led to believe by the Swede Erickson after all the big money players came in we would be up this year, Well that didn't happen. So we will have to be patient. To be honest the season I most enjoyed was the League 1 season as we were winning with monotonous regularity. Everyone was happy and positive.

Just the opposite now, everyone is p!ssed of because we are not where we should be on the table. I think Eriksson was bad for LCFC he and he alone sent us out hot favourites to win this division. With his crazy spending of millions of pounds of the owners money. Nigel is just the opposite, he spends wisely and looks before he leaps.”

“What a joke still NO back to back wins all season, if Sven got sacked then NP might want to look over his shoulders he has done a poor job since returning from Hull.”

“Some of the comments on here tell you about the people who are probably arm chair fans they have got to seeing City is their ear next to the radio,
why was Drinkwater taken off, ermm injured x-ray today 44mins gone in the first half struggled replaced by Danns
Delfonso not playing ermm you dont need to go down there to know hes "injured" against Brighton
Did nigel pearson spend all the money in the summer "no" that bloke called Sven did with his big contact book, Nigel pearson spent 3 million on 3 players, i am sure that if sven was here we would have got Nicky Maynard for £6 million and £40,000 a week wages he would offer, but no West Ham got him £1.5m and £15,000 a week wages, all you Pearson knockers you have a short memory.
WAS IT SVEN WHO GOT US OUT OF LEAGUE ONE no he did'nt pearson did, would he have got us out no because the money was'nt here then.”

“I dont mind the fact that we lost, because we would be murdered in the premier.

What upsets me is the roller coaster of expectation, built up in the prematch hype and not least of all by excellent results against Southampton and Cardiff, we have taken 10 pts from 4 games against these promotion favorites.

I dont think in all the years I have followed the City have i felt so frustrated in not knowing what to expect next.

The inconsistancy has got to a great extent got to be due to a lack of discipline, with the captain again very nearly talking himself into another red card. His actions are just not good enough no wonder we dont win doubtful decisions from inadequate officials, you have got to be a bit cleverer and I dont think that is in his make up.

Now that we are into long term building for next season I would pick someone not tarnished by this year to be captain ie Morgan and build from there, if Mills doesnt like it tough, its time he got his game together, some of his attempted clearances last night were laughable. At £5m Reading must be laughing all the way to the bank, in fact when you think about it the Thai money may finish up getting a team promoted but it wont be us.

My concern from last night is that following his superb display on Saturday, Drinkwater was targeted and crocked after 45 minutes, sincerely hope it isnt a long term injury.”
