Leicester and District Junior Football: Westfield Wanderers roar on with another emphatic victory
Westfield Wanderers are having an outstanding season in the Under-13 MGas E Division.
They top the table having won all of their 12 matches, the latest being an emphatic 10-0 drubbing of Loughborough Athletic.
In the process, they have scored 113 goals and conceded just two, giving them an amazing goal difference of plus 101.
Harry Schofield was their star against Loughborough, demonstrating a vast array of skills to score six times. The whole team, however, performed with great credit.
The defence of Josh Poole, Noah Reeve, Tom Bayliss and Joe Downes performed brilliantly not to concede any corners.
Three of the goals were worthy of mention. Adam Gascoigne's blast into the roof of the net gave the keeper no chance while Schofield netted after a move that went the length of the field involving Noah Reeve, Cameron Clarke and Callum York.
The 10th and final goal was the icing on the cake for Schofield and Westfield, a calm lob over the goalkeeper to send the crowd wild.
Santana remain top of the Under-14 Kaydee Sportswear E Division after a 3-2 success at Wigston United.
Both teams had chances to score but Praneal Patel, the Santana goalkeeper, organised his defence well to deny Wigston.
On 15 minutes, Nadeem Alkihan broke the deadlock for Santana and that sparked a number of shots at the Wigston goal, one of them hitting the bar.
The second half started with both teams hungry for goals and Wigston equalised.
Wigston went ahead with a penalty, despite Patel getting his hands to the ball.
Santana kept going and a cross from the right was converted by Callum Sharratt to bring the scores level.
With 10 minutes to go, Zain Karmada passed the ball to the left wing where Vishal Sedani took it in his stride and crossed for Alkihan to get his second goal and the winner.
Leicester Nirvana produced another fantastic performance to win their Under-13 Automedia Ltd C Division top-of-the-table clash.
Nirvana started strongly and Sufyaan Pathan got on end of a set-piece to make it 1-0. Two further goals followed before the break.
In the second-half, Nirvana added another three to keep alive their title hopes.
Dujana Nasir and Adam Ahmed netted two each while Mussa Lambat scored what could only be described as a breath-taking goal.
