Leicester Tigers make 14 changes from the team that beat Toulouse in the Heineken Cup last time out.

Mat Tait is the only player to retain his place. And there is good news with flanker Tom Croft making his first appearance at Welford Road in 10 months.

Here is how the action against Wasps unfolded.

9 min: A worrying moment as Croft leaves the field with an injury. It's hard to tell whether or not it is a recurrence of the neck problem which required surgery, but it turns out to be no more than a back spasm. He is replaced by Michael Noone.

17 min: TRY (7-0) After a slow start, Tigers get on the board with Samoan prop Logovi'i Mulipola barrelling over the line in the corner after a sneaky blind-side move from a ruck. Dan Bowden lands a tough conversion after missing an earlier penalty.

29 min: A really sobering moment as 20-year-old lock Tom Price is stretchered off after a nine-minute delay, unconscious and with a neck injury. He is taken to the Royal Infirmary for tests.

29 min: penalty (10-0) Following the stoppage, Tigers decide to take three points when Wasps are off-side and Kiwi Bowden extends the lead.

34 min: Yellow card Referee Martin Fox had already had words with Wasps for repeated offences at the breakdown when flanker Tinus Du Plessis becomes the one to bite the bullet after giving away another penalty.

37 min: try (15-0) Tigers bag a second try when Bowden changes the direction of Leicester's attack. His quick-thinking gives Noone a simple score in the corner. Bowden misses the extras.

H-T: Tigers 15 Wasps 0

46 min: Penalty (15-3) Wasps finally get on the board when fly-half Chris Bell lands a penalty.

61 min: TRY (20-3) A superb score from Tait as he takes a ball from Scott Hamilton. He burns through the Wasps defence and shakes off the odd tackle before diving over in the corner. Bowden misses the conversion.

67 min: try (27-3) Tigers land the all-important bonus point to keep alive their chances of progress from Pool Two. Bowden makes a lovely break and, after three quick phases, Vereniki Goneva hits a nice line at pace and is unstoppable on his way to the line. Cornwell gets the conversion.

74 min: try (27-8) Wasps get the try their dogged persistence deserves when Hugo Southwell is on the end of a flat pass to score in the corner. Chris Bell misses the extras.

77 min: try (34-8) Fijian Goneva bags his second of the day but it is scrum-half Micky Young who makes it with a cracking break and an even better offload to give Goneva a simple finish. Cornwell adds two more points to complete the scoring.

F-T: Tigers 34 Wasps 8
