Tracy Sales who helps organise the event said: "This is our annual festival and this year's theme is Richard III.

We took a bit of a risk when we decided to theme it around King Richard because he hadn't actually been formally identified when we made the decesion - it was around the time when his bones were first dug up. Luckily it was him.

"We have 85 beers from breweries within 25 mile radius of Leicester, which includes a beer from a new brewery in Somerby, which we have never sold before.

"Then there are beers from around the country so there's a very wide ranging selection to try."

There were also 35 ciders and perries on offer.Because March is the CAMRA campaigning month for dark beers - there was a good selection of milds, porters and stouts to choose from.
