Leicester's lord mayor Abdul Osman started a countdown timer to the deadline near the Haymarket clock tower last week but the prize went unclaimed. At the countdown launch he said: “It’s an absolutely massive amount. It’s amazing no one has come forward yet.”

As well as the £1 million, another unclaimed ticket, bought in Leicester, matched five numbers and the bonus ball in the Lotto draw on Saturday, June 16, netting the winner £332,000.

The winning Lotto numbers were 3, 19, 21, 37, 40 and 49, and the bonus ball was 35. The lucky ticket-holder has until December 13 to claim.

On Friday, June 15, someone in Hinckley and Bosworth bought a Lotto Plus 5 ticket which scooped £250,000. They have until December 12 to claim.

Anyone who believes they have the winning ticket for any of the draws should call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000.
