A group of primary school children has raised more than £800 for people in Haiti. The class of 31 youngsters, from St Thomas More Catholic Primary School, Knighton, organised the fund-raiser after hearing about January's devastating earthquake. The children , aged eight and nine, were sponsored to walk hand-in-hand from their school grounds to Knighton Park – about one-and-a-half miles away - to raise the cash. Teacher Jim McGill said: "Everyone at the school has been really supportive and it's great that the children came up with the idea themselves."
