Leicestershire police officer fighting cancer aims to raise £100,000 for treatment
A police officer who is fighting cancer is hoping to raise £100,000 for experimental treatment in America.
David Robinson, 28, has four tumours – three on his brain and one on his spine – and believes his only hope lies in the clinical trial of a new treatment in America.

His friends, family and colleagues are trying to raise the money to enable him to go.
David said: "I was 17 going on 18 when I was first diagnosed with a brain tumour. I received treatment but then it came back a few years later in 2005.
"I had an operation and doctors said they had removed it but they couldn't be sure whether it would return. It did come back in May last year.
"I've been having a different kind of chemotherapy for a month now and it is better.
"But the treatment in America is not available here and I think I have to try it."
The treatment is part of a clinical trial study at the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumour Centre, at Duke Hospital, in Durham, North Carolina.
It is specifically aimed at adults with a recurrent brain tumour called medulloblastoma.
Yesterday, David's fiancee Almina sprang a surprise by arranging for him meet players and staff at Leicester City.
The couple were shown around the club's training complex by Alan Birchenall, who introduced him to the players and Milan Mandaric.
Almina, 29, who is expecting the couple's first child, said: "From the word go everyone has rallied to help us. The police have been like family."
David became a community support officer two years ago and was training to become a regular officer before he became ill again.
Colleagues, who described him as a "dedicated" officer – are doing their bit to help him. A group called Team Robinson will complete a 200-mile sponsored cycle ride from force HQ, in Enderby, to Devon, in 24 hours on Saturday, April 24.
Chief Inspector Rosie Grant, one of David's senior officers at Mansfield House police station in Leicester, said: "We're immensely proud of David for his courage and we will be doing everything in our power to get him to America."
