Logistics firm in line for bumper £1m deal
A company which makes production lines and storage systems for businesses across the world is awaiting news of a £1 million Middle East deal.
CI Logistics has just completed a £100,000 contract to build a conveyor belt for Honda's UK production line.

The company, based in Troon Industrial Area, Leicester, is now awaiting confirmation of a major deal in the United Arab Emirates.
Managing director Gary Bale said: "We work all over the world, as well as in the UK.
"Overseas trade is only a small part of the business but we are waiting to hear about a £1 million retail project.
"We will be able to confirm the details when the deal is announced."
Mr Bale said CI Logistics employs 30 staff and will have a turnover of about £5.2 million this year – above target.
The company makes overhead, floor and garment conveyors as well as storage systems for businesses such as car manufacturers, paint shops, distribution warehouses and clothes shops.
Recent clients include Jaguar, Diageo, Caterpillar and high street clothes store New Look.
The firm has completed the installation of a conveyor system for a dashboard assembly line at Honda's UK manufacturing plant in Swindon.
It was designed to transport new Honda Civic dashboards around a 20-station assembly line.
More than 3,500 people work at the Honda site, building a car every 85 seconds for the UK, Europe and Russia.
Honda project engineer Neil Adams, said: "I made a shortlist of three companies and when the quotes came in the one from CI Logistics was the most cost-effective.
"We had a very tight installation timescale of just four days to take out the old conveyor and install the new one. Work started as soon as production finished on Thursday, and due to a detailed installation programme and a lot of hard work over the weekend the conveyor ran perfectly in time for the Tuesday morning shift.
"CI Logistics also developed the software controls for the system."
CI Logistics was launched 28 years ago and was taken over by US firm Portec Rail Products Inc in 1999.
Mr Bale said the Honda contract was worth in the region of £100,000.
He said the firm had a difficult few months during the 2009 recession.
However, it bounced back the following year with a £2.5 million contract to build a system for Diageo to move whisky casks in Stirling, Scotland. He said: "It gave us a platform to come out of a bad year in 2009 and take us into a very good position in 2011.
"We lost 10 people through the recession but we are now looking to expand.
"We are advertising for an engineer and we have got a good business plan going into 2012, when we expect a turnover of close to £5.7 million and a staffing figure of up to 38."
He said they also hoped to announce another big contract next month.
