Loughborough Town Under-13s became the League Cup champions on Sunday with a resounding win over Narborough and Littlethorpe.

Narborough made a good fight of it by scoring 100 runs, although a lot of these were extras. The Loughborough bowlers kept it very tight, with Sanjay Rajput, Rahul Gokani and Charlie Clarke standing out.

The Loughborough fielding was also superb, with another good display behind the stumps from Josh Winterton.

When it was Town's turn to bat, Danny Murty, in his last game as team captain, stroked his way to another 25 runs.

For such a young team, Narborough's bowling was very good and the Town players had to work hard. But Chopra (8) and Clarke (6 ) helped out and then Shannay Sharma (23) and James Dobson (9) saw Town home with 10 overs to spare.
