Loughborough 'earthquake' felt across East Midlands
A small 'earthquake' centred on Loughborough, was felt across Leicestershire and other parts of the East Midlands at around 5.20am this morning (Friday 18 January 2013). The British Geological Survey said the tremor had registered 2.9 on the Richter scale - below the level where damage would be expected.
People from Loughborough and across parts of Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire have reported feeling it. Tweeting minutes after the event, Dr Simon Gosling @simon_gosling said:
