M69 closed in Leicestershire after two women injured in crash
Two women were injured when their car was involved in a crash on the M69 this morning closing the motorway in both directions.
One woman was airlifted to Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
The other woman was taken to the same hospital by road ambulance with minor injuries.
The single vehicle collision involving a Peugeot happened near junction 2 of the M69 on the southbound carriageway.

The M69 was closed southbound between the M1 (J21) and J1 (M69) and northbound between J1 and J2 of the M69.
Southbound traffic heading towards Coventry and Birmingham is being advised to use the M1 to J19 and then M6 north.
UPDATE: The road was reopened just after 12.30pm.

“When you find out the cause can you let us know please.. I'm convinced that it would make us all better drivers if we know HOW these crashes were caused..
Why are they all magically caused by nothing????”
