MP coverage sign of drift to the left?
On February 9, this newspaper published two In The House articles – a rare event.
The MPs featured were Liz Kendall, Labour MP for Leicester West, and Jon Ashworth, the Labour MP for Leicester South.
Both members of parliament told us how concerned they were for our welfare and managed to score a few party political points along the way. I have no problem with that it is what they are paid to do.
Seeking relief from this political onslaught, I started reading the rest of the newspaper.

All was well until I reached page 10, where I was confronted with a Keith Vaz promotion. Keith Vaz is the Labour MP for Leicester East.
Perhaps I am being paranoid or is it just my fertile imagination but why do I get the impression that this newspaper is moving slowly but inexorably towards the left?

“The good people of Leicester were wise enough to elect three Labour MPs. Even though they are in opposition they are hard working and highly visible. It's hardly surprising that they secure press coverage as a result. The county Tory MPs in stark contrast are inactive and invisible.”

“Our culture is moving Leftwards, and the newspapers follow. The Tories are a centrist party – there is no real opposition.”
