Mad Men stars get designer satchels from Wigston firm
The cast and crew of hit US show Mad Men have been given designer satchels made at a Wigston factory.
About 300 bags from the Cambridge Satchel Company, in Viking Road, were presented to John Hamm and the rest of the cast by the show's creator, Matthew Weiner.
The gifts mark the end of filming for the fifth series, which premiered last night on Sky Atlantic.
Julie Deane, who started the company in her kitchen five years ago, said: "We were thrilled to bits because it's such a stylish programme. We were bowled over."

Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant is a big fan of the brand and recommended the Cambridge Satchel Company to Weiner.
The bags were embossed with the Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce logo – the advertising company in the show – and handed out at the "wrap party" earlier this year. The bags have already received international recognition and have been featured in People magazine and on the Today Show in the US.
"We're probably better known in America than we are here," said Julie.
"We've got one of the biggest selling bags in Bloomingdales – and they're made in Wigston, how great is that?"
The Wigston factory was set up a year ago and employs about 40 people.
It is also recruiting apprentices from Leicester College.
Staff make about 450 bags a day which are shipped to 86 countries as well as to exclusive department stores in the UK such as Harrods and Selfridges.
Television presenter and retail expert Mary Portas visited the factory three weeks ago to film footage for her new show. Julie said: "We've just had so many accolades, it's really brilliant."

“The Mad Men season 5 premiere didn't disappoint, especially with Megan's sexy serenade. The period detail was again magnificent from every satin frock to every madras print to every cocktail in every glass. I've been archiving original, early-60s party recipes on my blog and love the real Mad Men-era flare of the swinging vintage hors d'oeuvres and cocktail recipes. Even if you can't duplicate the fashion, you can party in authentic Mad Men-stye. Here's my guide to throwing the perfect 60s vintage cocktail party: http://tinyurl.com/d3utv7p”
