A spokesman for the local liaison group said the meeting, reserved for residents, the circuit management and the Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, had been arranged to discuss proposals from Mallory Park Motorsport Ltd (MPML).
The spokesman said: “As of 6pm Tuesday no proposals have been made and so the decision has been made to cancel the meeting.”

“How is GB_Ford_1970 talking sense?

“Actually GBFORD_1970 I think you will find it is actually because the "liason committe" who are supposed to represent the whole village, have rejected numerous offers to come to a compromise because the "liason committee" are insisting they have it their way or no way.
That is not the essence of Compromise
The Council have had several proposals put to them also which have been rejected, but the Circuit has be a viable business in any event
The "liason committee" are being named at present and are worried that recriminations will follow, however if you want to have the control of what happens in a village and stop a democratic process from occurring it will surely rile some of the other residents who do not feel they are being represented fairly.
So far this charade has been ongoing for approx 2 years so these people have had ample time to come to an agreement.
So control now MUST surely pass to a governing body that will ensure some common sense prevails over all proceedings whether that is favour of the Circuit or the residents. This destuctive issue can not be allowed to continue indefinately.
Peoples jobs are at risk and when the "liason committee" representatives state that they care not for jobs, that leaves a rather unplesant taste in the mouth to be honest. Peoples livihoods are being affected and if jobs are lost how will they provide for their families. That surely has to be a bigger priority than some retired fuddy duddie that just have too much time on their hands and complains about everything.”

“No, it is because MPML didn't put any proposals forward to the village for discussion, thus redering the meeting pointless. MPML have now decided to communicate with the council directly, rather than consulting residents of the Village they operate in.
