“I believe there was a letter recently commenting on having banned virtually all traffic from the city centre we now allow cyclists to hurtle between pedestrians instead. It may well be that they know they are in control but it is very, very unsettling for the elderly. I once received a mouthful from a cyclist hurtling towards me from behind telling me to effing watch where I was going when I dared to deviate from my course to put a sweet paper in a bin. Nice.”

“perhaps some cctv footage is available of this lowlife either prior or after the attack, though i doubt the police have the resources to go into nearby shops or businesses to obtain it.
It would at least give the general public the opportunity to help identify them, the lame description provided is neither use nor ornament.”

“Perhaps if we had a few police officers on the beat enforcing the law we wouldn't have people being anti-social in the first place and the public wouldn't have to do their job for them. If you can't expect a police presence in the town centre, well there's really no hope is there? I dread to think what it will be like when the cuts take their full effect.”

“We frequently see how dangerous it is to remonstrate with these people for their anti-social behaviour. So the decent public, cowed, must suffer in silence or by violence.”

“Interesting the Leicester Mercury add the word "white" to the description of the criminal, but add no colour to the description of the criminal in other articles by the LM. I was thinking about the mugging that was reported a few days ago by the LM by a group of lads.”

“So a 28 to 32 year old assaults a 79 year old.............sounds like a real hero to me.”
