Police have cordoned off the A6 in Loughborough following a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

Officers were called to High Street at about 5.55am today following reports of the crash.

A man in his 20s was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

The road has been closed between Wilkinsons, in Swan Street, and the turn for Baxter Gate.
