Man broke ticket barrier at Loughborough station
British Transport Police are appealing for help from the public after a railway station ticket barrier was damaged.
Officers have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident which happened at Loughborough station, at 11.25am on Monday, January 14.
Investigating officer, Pc Nick Fowler said: "A man attempted to pass through a ticket barrier in the station.
"When his ticket didn't work he tried the next one before returning to the first barrier and forcing his way through, snapping the hinges off the door as he did so.
"Ticket barriers are sturdy and the man must have used significant force to break the hinges.
"The barrier had to be fixed, which cost over £500.
"Criminal damage such as this will not be tolerated on the rail network and we will do all we can to catch those responsible and bring them to justice.
"I would urge anyone who may recognise the man pictured to come forward and help this investigation."
