Man jailed for two armed bank robberies in Leicester

A man has been jailed for carrying out two armed bank robberies in Leicester city centre.

Brian Kemp (45) was sentenced at Leicester Crown Court after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing to the two robberies.

The first raid took place on Tuesday, August 30, last year, at the Nationwide Building Society and the second incident was on Tuesday, September 27, last year at the Yorkshire Bank, both in Horsefair Street.

During both incidents Kemp threatened members of staff and claimed that he had a gun.

Kemp was also issued with a confiscation order under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
