Man seriously injured after one-car collision in Leicester
A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a one-car collision in the city.
The fire service said the driver of a white van was treated by paramedics at the junction of Uppingham Road and St Barnabas Road at about 10.15am today after he collided with traffic lights at a pedestrian crossing.

He was taken to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham.
No other vehicles were involved.
Firefighters were also called after the Transit van began leaking fuel and the engine started to smoke.
They made the vehicle safe and left the scene at about 11am.
The county bound carriageway of Uppingham Road (A47) was closed while recovery crews worked to clear debris from the area.
The road has now been reopened in both directions.
