A man was stabbed during an assault at a hotel yesterday.

The incident took place at the Beauchief Hotel in Pinfold Gate, Loughborough, at about 9.10am.

Two men were involved in the incident. One received two stab wounds to his back and was taken to hospital for treatment. He has now been discharged.

An 18-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm and has been remanded into custody.

Detective Constable Jenny Tattersall, who is investigating the incident, said: “There had been a party at the hotel the previous night at which many people attended, and we believe that both men had been at the hotel during that evening.

“We’re interested in speaking to anyone who may recall any information during the evening which may be linked to this incident.

“It’s important to help us build on the evidence already collected and that anyone who can remember witnessing the events leading up to this assault please gets in touch.”
