It featured in a list of 30 locations compiled by the Times newspaper, which also included locations such as Marazion, in Cornwall, Combe Martin in Devon and Ashbourne in Derbyshire.
Anne Ashworth, the paper’s property and money editor, said the choices were based on the views of housing market experts and key price data.
The paper said: “Visit here and it’s like stepping back in time.

“This peaceful town is close to Bosworth Field where Henry Tudor beat Richard III.
“The town is low-key: enjoy award-winning fish and chips or try home-made cakes at the tea shop.
“Bosworth Water Trust, a 50-acre park, is near by.”
Referring to house prices, the paper said: “The Midlands isn’t fashionable so you can pick up a Georgian townhouse for £350,000 or a character cottage for about £250,000.”

“I can understand why it might be attractive as a place to live in if it was your primary residence. But as a second home location? No wonder houses are a ridiculous price!”
