Market Harborough Traders Shocked as Town Centre Roads Close
Market Harborough town centre has has been closed to traffic this weekend, outraging traders. Independent traders spokesman Malcolm Lever-Jones said many people had not received a letter informing them of the closure. "The total shut down came as a shock and is yet another blow to trade," he said.
Diversion signs went up at 6am yesterday as contractors moved in to Market Harborough to finish a £170,000 resurfacing programme.

Market Harborough Town Centre closed to traffic this weekend.
High Street, The Square, Church Street, Abbey Street and the town centre section of Coventry Road were closed to all through traffic.
Roadworks have already been in place in High Street for five weeks. The road is being rebuilt and widened.

County Hall, which is carrying out the work, said the latest closure was explained in a letter delivered to 400 businesses last month and that it hoped the town would reopen to traffic on Monday morning.
