14 min: Sam Byram is given a free header by the City defence and Kasper Schmeichel has to scramble low down to his right to keep the ball out.

17 min: Wood capitalises on a mistake but his shot is straight at Paddy Kenny.

19 min: City turning the screw with some good approach play and Danny Drinkwater shoots from the edge of the box, but it is over the bar.

24 min: Byram is given another free header at the far post but straight at Schmeichel. City need to start picking him up.

24 min: Kane's shot is parried by Kenny and almost falls straight for Nugent, who would have had a simple tap-in.

30 min: Kane goes close with another long-range effort which is just inches away from the far post with keeper Kenny rooted to the spot.

34 min: Kane is looking impressive in a wide position. He beats two defenders with a neat piece of skill and picks out Wood at the near post but his side-foot finish is deflected wide.

36 min: Kenny has to pull off a great save to push Wood's looping shot over the bar at full stretch. City are knocking on the door now.

39 min: Byram picks out the run of David Norris inside the City area but his finish is off target. That is a big let-off for City.

45 min: Kenny again is at full stretch, this time to touch away Knockaert's free-kick, which was heading into the top corner.

h-t: City 0 Leeds 0

53 min: GOAL 0-1 From a corner, which is flicked on to the far post, Byram arrives unmarked to volley home the opening goal. A big blow for City.

55 min: From another Leeds corner, Tom Lees heads wide. City look vulnerable on set-pieces.

58 min: Schmeichel has to tip Ross McCormack's fierce strike around the post. Leeds are enjoying their best period of the game.

64 min: A fantastic bursting run from Drinkwater down the right and he crosses for King, but he fails to connect properly on the half-volley. It's better stuff from City.

65 min: Schmeichel is the busier keeper and he has to beat away Paul Green's long-range strike.

79 min: De Laet does well to create an opening and cross. The ball comes back for Wood but his half-volley goes wide.

84 min: Norris beats the off-side trap and eventually beats Schmeichel, but the keeper delayed him long enough for Michael Keane to recover and clear off the line.

85 min: Kane flashes a shot across goal and wide of the far post when well positioned inside the Leeds area. City have not created many chances better than that in the second half.

90+1 min: Kenny touches Andy King's overhead kick over the bar after a goalmouth melee, featuring Schmeichel.

90+2 min: Loud appeals from City for a penalty as Kane appears to be pushed over inside the area, but once again nothing given.

90+3 min: Kenny again tips the ball over the bar from King's header. City laying siege to Leeds' goal now.

90+4 min: GOAL 1-1 Substitute Martyn Waghorn's corner to the back post and Keane heads home.

“Without wishing to go back to early seventies 'short-shorts' - aren't ours a bit long, and despite those muscled thighs, baggy? On a soaking wet Saturday, they must slow even Dyer down. Give our sex-starved women a treat (I retired years ago) and trim 'em down, (or up), a bit.”
