"What we want to do now is put in those kind of good performances at Grace Road because we are well aware that we have not given our supporters too much joy at home since the early part of the season.

"We have the chance to do that now. Yesterday we started a Championship match with league leaders Sussex and then on Tuesday we begin another home match, with Derbyshire our visitors.

"The next week or so will be a good indicator for us. There is still a lot of four-day cricket to be played before the season ends in September and, if we can build up some momentum, we can make a real bid to get somewhere near the top of the table."
