Matty Fryatt's pledge to get back on goals trail
Leicester City striker Matty Fryatt is determined to get back on the scoring trail, starting against Doncaster Rovers at the Walkers Stadium tonight.
The 23-year-old forward has still to score in 2010 – his last goal was in the Boxing Day victory against Sheffield United, which was also the last time City won at home in the Championship.
Fryatt, who has 12 goals in all competitions, was in sparkling form during Saturday's 2-1 win at Blackpool, although two outstanding chances did go begging.
He was denied by a smart save from keeper Matt Gilks and then Stephen Crainey cleared his goalbound effort off the line.
"I thought I played well and had a couple of chances. I know if I keep doing the right things it will only be a matter of time before I start scoring again," said Fryatt, who hit 32 goals last season in League One.
He is confident about adding to his tally because he says the 4-3-3 system being employed by manager Nigel Pearson is paying dividends.
"I was delighted with the win at Blackpool," said Fryatt. "On the counter-attack we were threatening while, at the same time, the defence was solid."
The seaside success at the weekend was City's first away win since a 2-1 victory at QPR on October 30.
"It is a surprise that it was back then when we last won but we have played at teams who are up there, such as Nottingham Forest," said Fryatt.
"I'm sure we can get more away wins but what we need to do now is to get back to winning ways at home."

“Well said Lisa, I hope Fryatt gets a goal or 2 later on, but more importantly as long as we are scoring and wining like Saturday then we're not too concerned who scores as long as everyone puts in the effort. Blue Army!!!!!”
