Oadby: The following are Mayor of Oadby and Wigston Councillor Kevin Loydall's engagements for the weekend:

At 10.45am tomorrow, he will be at The Bassett Centre, in South Wigston, to re-launch the centre and unveil a memorial plaque.

Later, he will be at South Wigston Methodist Church for a flower and artefacts festival.

Tomorrow, he will attend St Mary's Parish Church, in Sileby, for the Charnwood Borough Council civic church service.

Glenfield: Loros hospice has opened a charity shop at their warehouse in Station Road.

It will be open to the public from 10am-4pm, Monday to Friday. Donations such as bric-a-brac, books and clothes are urgently required.

The charity also needs more volunteers to help in the warehouse sorting clothes and bric-a-brac. Anyone who can spare three to four hours a week should call Pippa on 0116 231 3666.

Wigston: The Tuesday Art Group is holding an exhibition of paintings at the Methodist Church, in Cross Street, tomorrow from 10am to 4pm.

Coffee, tea and biscuits will be served, and everyone is welcome. Proceeds from the event are for the mini-bus fund.

Oadby: An event promoting re-usable nappies will be held at Brocks Hill Visitor Centre on Saturday, July 4, from 10am until 12.30pm. There will be advice about traditional nappies.

The event is being organised by Leicestershire County Council and is free of charge.
