At the weekend my son developed swine flu for which he has managed to obtain Tamiflu as he is an asthmatic.

He and his disabled wife and two-year-old daughter live in Glenfield.

My son's wife has had to struggle to the shops to get food and try to keep the household going single-handed.

Their flat belongs to Three Oaks Housing Association and has a warden service if they need help.

My son rang the warden service who said, no, with swine flue no-one can come near them.

They even had to inform the housing association about them having swine flu so that no-one came near them to do repairs or anything else.

I have never heard of anything so damn heartless.

Swine flu is not the bubonic plague and this family are being left to manage in whatever way they can.

Me and my husband are 70 and 77 respectively but I do know this, if we had lived anywhere near them we would have helped them in any way we could.

This mass hysteria about swine flu seems to have turned people into barbarians.

I am writing this to highlight the problems of a young, disabled family who clearly need help and can't get it.

In my opinion, most of this hysteria has been caused by the media.
