Members enjoy Len's excellent film show
Husbands Bosworth: Members of the historical society who braved treacherous conditions to get to the recent meeting were rewarded by an excellent film show presented by Len Holden, of The Harborough Movie Makers.
The subject of the evening was the film-maker's acclaimed documentary about the Battle of Naseby.
Glenfield: Glenfield library is scheduled to get self-service machines this month.
They are being installed in 16 libraries across the county and will allow people to borrow and return books, CDs and DVDs quickly.
Castle Donington: The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is currently being celebrated.
It will be marked in Castle Donington with a joint service at the Methodist Church, in Market Place, on Sunday, at 10.30am.
Diseworth: There will be a coffee morning at Diseworth Parish Church on Saturday.
It gets under way at 10am.
Long Whatton and Diseworth: Parish councillors have agreed in principle to contribute, jointly with other parish councils, towards the costs of a laser speed-detection device to be used for traffic speed detection.
GREETHAM: The WI team got through to the quarter finals of the county skittles competition but were knocked out by Hoby Women's Institute.
The game was closely fought and was only decided in the last round match.
New members are always welcome to join the Women's Institute.

EVINGTON: Ten pieces of outdoor exercise equipment have recently been installed in Evington Park.
People are able to along on Saturday, to learn how to use the equipment, in a session led by Chinna Patel.

A Mr Rogerson is now the owner of an ornamental candle lantern, donated by Casa Bella Giftware.
A total of £310 was raised for proprietors Alan Taylor and Tony Baines's chosen charity, MacMillan Cancer Relief.
