Michael Keane's late last-gasp equaliser against Leeds rescues Leicester City's promotion dreams
Michael Keane headed home a vital equaliser for Leicester City in the last minute of added time against Leeds to keep alive their promotion hopes.
City seemed to be heading for their fourth defeat in six games after Sam Byram had put Leeds on course for only their fourth away win of the campaign until the 20-year-old defender popped up at the far post to head home Martyn Waghorn's corner.

It had been a frustrating night for City and, while they really needed all three points, they never gave up.
After picking up just four points from their last five games, a victory would have put City back into the hunt for automatic promotion, while Leeds' recent form had given them an outside chance of gate-crashing the play-offs.

Leeds had kept three consecutive clean sheets coming into the game and City possessed the best defensive record in the Championship, so it was no surprise that the first half was goalless, although there was no shortage of efforts on goal.
Twice Paddy Kenny had to produce an excellent save to deny Chris Wood, and then Anthony Knockaert on the stroke of half-time.
But City were also tested defensively by the visitors on the counter-attack and twice Byram was given a free header inside the City box, but he could not take advantage.
City struggled to maintain the same level of intensity in the second period and were punished when Byram was allowed to ghost in at the far post and volley home from close range.
City had a strong claim for a penalty in added time when Harry Kane was pushed over inside the area, but the breakthrough finally came when Keane rose majestically at the back post to head home Waghorn's corner.
City striker Marko Futacs has joined Championship rivals Blackpool on a one-month loan.

“Look at this
http://tinyurl.com/bsdbjlw
Its the Blackburn corner for schmiecals wonder-save recently, but Just look at the space the guy on the edge of the box has got. Criminal defending.
For me, this has been our major failing this season and has cost us a lot of points. Sort it out Nige!”

“I'm sure Sir Nige appreciates the comparison with Obama.
However, all he's doing is taking the pressure and the fans' anger onto his own shoulders in order to spare the players from the abuse and criticism.”

“Pearson gets paid the big bucks, he's in the public eye and has to accept responsibility when things aren't going right. Spitting his dummy out the pram every time critisism comes his way really does speak volumes about the bloke.
That kid paid his money on Tuesday & had every right to voice his frustration...
and what I find absolutely amazing is that Ian Stringer became a cult hero after the Norwich cup game last season...what were those 8.000 travelling faithful singing? "There's only one Ian Stringer , one Ian Stringer" etc etc...and now after a series of botched results & dropped points, it's all his fault (oh yeah, & the kid behind the dugout)...
Priceless...you couldn't write it could you?
It's comparable with the Liberal media here in the States...they'll do & say anything to protect Obama..never ever mention the deficit, the fact that a budget hasn't been out on the table since 2009, never mention the growing unemployment stats...but we're all over Marco Rubio for taking a sip of water during a speech criticising Obama recently....to paraphrase Jack Nicholson's famous movie quote "you can't handle the truth"”

“I accept the rebuke Kapero. But Nigel's career depends on getting us promoted and staying there. There's a bit more stress involved (Fergie looked ready to explode the other night). They are human, like you, me, and even lolo and dobbie (So quiet I wonder if he's been 'spoken to'). No new manager walks in to a calm situation - I just feel he's scored eight out of ten since he's been here and I'm happy with that. A bit taciturn, yes. Defensive of his players, yes. If he stays here long enough to relax a tad without worrying about reporters trying to catch him out he'll probably turn out to be a decent, hard-working bloke who doesn't beat his wife, or kick his dog. And he has to speak to the Press without telling us what he thinks of Deadman, and then paying the fine.”

“Kap, i missed that one but at last we agree..
I too would rate the Palace fans as the best down the KP so far this season.”

“There is a distinct difference between non-tolerance of a very small idiotic minority and openly and publicly telling your 'spoiled' club supporters to stay away if they don't like it.
I have grown to appreciate Nigel for what he is, and i respect him for his strengths. But he does have weaknesses and they are begining to show. Some folk need to accept both sides and stop being so defined and sensitive.
But whichever camp you sit in or straddle, his comments regarding the fans on Tuesday were uneccesary and spiteful.”

“Fergie doesn't tolerate irate ignorant abusive fans, or reporters who pander to them. Neither should Nigel. He took over a team in the state Blackburn is now - expensively assembled poor dressing-room - and sorted it out (though we still have Mills, Beckford and Danns). He's rebuilt us with a superb back-room staff and the future's bright. But if we don't get promotion by some sort of divine right, he's an 'arrogant rude idiot' lacking control and deserving his P45. Some of you should just support Man. Utd. You'll win most weeks and everything will be lovely. I live in the real world where my team is usually about fifth in Div. 1. Oh, so it is. So it's doing well. IF Nigel is sacked this summer I tell you one thing. We won't then go up next year either. C'mon City.”

“At the risk of a nice big red count, anyone else notice in Sky's brief footage why we don't score the goals we should. Shooting from outside the box when players are clear and waiting to be played in is not clever. The shot gets an 'oooh' but the chance has gone. Knockaert, Wood and Kane were all guilty. Giving a 'thumbs up' to the player you've either not seen or ignored is really just an admission of guilt. They're all young and they'll learn, but it's costing us now. Talk to 'em Nuge.”
