Miss England hopefuls strut their stuff
Three Miss England hopefuls got together yesterday for some last-minute preparation ahead of the pageant.
Miss Leicester Lena Walker, 17, of Aylestone, was joined by Miss Derby Sunita Pall, 23, and Miss Nottingham Chelcie Mayhew, 18, at the Almanack, in Highcross shopping centre.
Sixty finalists will be at Athena, in Rutland Street, Leicester, on Monday and Tuesday for the show, which will be hosted by Leicester ModelZed modeling agency owner and former Miss Leicester, Kate Solomons.
The winner's first task as Miss England will be to take a holiday in Mauritius, where she will take part in a beauty pageant to promote the island.

Yesterday, the East Midlands contestants spent the afternoon rehearsing their catwalk struts and interview techniques.
Jemma Simmonds, event manager at ModelZed, said: "It was just a bit of last-minute preparation, going over some points and preparing them for the final.
"Some of the girls have not been involved in anything like this before, so we went over media training – if they win, the media will want them straightaway.
"They're a bit nervous but they also realise that this is an amazing, life-changing opportunity."
