Monty Python meets Tory party
Roger Helmer's contretemps with Conservative Central Office over the appointment of Rupert Matthews as his successor is the kind of idiocy that I would expect from the other side of the House, not from Cameron's party.
Party rules mean that Mr Matthews who was next on the Tory list of candidates at the 2009 election should be offered Roger's seat but apparently Mr Matthews could be tainted.
Mr Matthew's crime is – and I suggest that readers of a nervous disposition sit down before reading further – that he is the director of a company that is reported to have published a book with golliwog dolls (note that, dolls, not one doll) on the front cover.
This is a serious crime and no doubt this has attracted the attention of SOCA, the CPS, the race equality industry plus numerous MPs who see some mileage in this one.
Talk about Monty Python.

“Helmer has decided to go, he tended his resignation and that is it.
It is not up to him to decide or have any input in who is to succeed him.”

“It is pretty obvious what the real issues with Rupert Matthews might be, you only need to watch one of his Youtube videos or see the titles of the numerous books he has authored. Cameron as a former communications director knows all too well the potential of such a buffoonish person to cause embarrassment to his party.”
