“Before we get carried away here....

Danns called back but still on loan to Bristol City ao cannot play for us v Burton....

That can only mean he needs to stay fit so that we can sell him.......”

“Good to have him back but I think Drinkwater, Marshall and Knockeart are better players. Also Matty James is proving to be a better defensive midfielder than Danns. We will need plenty of cover for the games left so I would put Danns in the same group as Dyer and King. Defence hasn't really cost us points this season it has been the poor conversion rate of the many chances we have created in some games. Konchesky and DeLaet should just carry on as they are. Come on you blue boys!”

“City are in for Liam Trotter at Millwall - if successful then surely the end if the road for King/Wellens?”

“Lot of talk about Neil's defensive prowess. De Laet and Konchesky have shown to be lacking on that front at times and both have probably cost us a total of Four or five points. Give the guy a break please.”

“ow Foxeerod I agree behind Knockaert and Drinkwater but if you think he is behind King on his last 7 or8 games then I think almost anyone would be. King has been AOL for some considerable time. Yes Lingard Auf Wiedersein enjoy your next loan out it won't be in the top half of the Championship.”

“yes yorkfox , you , like me recognise danns for what he is , an attacking midfielder , who is currently behind drinkwater , knockaert and king in the pecking order .
but he cannot tackle or defend so how can wiltsfox call him an ankle-biter ?
im also pleased that keane is staying and that lingard has returned to man utd as he looked ineffective .”

“When I saw Danns play he was an attack-minded midfielder and a defensive liability.

At best he would only be in contention for the attacking midfield role if we continue to play a more covering holding midfielder as James has been recently.

That leaves him to compete for a place with DD, King, and perhaps, Knocky, Wellens Marshall and Gally (the latter looks to be working himself back into the management plans again).

On his day Danns is a class act in this division but he needs to be focused, hard working and hopefully non-divisive in the dressing room. If he can deliver then I would welcome him back into the squad but not to rely on his "defensive abilities".”

“Life's lessons are sometimes hard: Nigel doesn't want a 'fancy-dann', involved more off the field than on it, he wants the player Danns could be. He's shown him the down-side of the Championship, now does he want to play his part in promotion, or develop his career off the field? Contract reputedly up in the summer, and James settling in well. Close call.”

“Glad to see him back and hope he is given a chance to stake a claim for a starting spot. Is the type of player, if his attitude is right for the squad, who could be crucial to our promotion push,
We need competition for places in midfield to keep everyone on their toes”

“Yes blue he went AOL for the last one but so may Knockaert next time out. He ain't on his own if you look at inconcistancy. I could name Marshall and Dyer as arch suspects in the "which one will turn up stakes" I leave King out as he tends to have three good games then ten bad ones. LCFC should not carry passengers. .”
