People are being encouraged to get out on their bikes to get fit and help save the environment.

A series of free guided winter rides organised by Leicester City Council and British Cycling starts on Sunday.

There are four routes, ranging from introductory to fast and challenging.

Experienced cyclists can take part in the Foxton Wave Rider, a 35-mile ride which sets off from Leicester Town Hall bike park in the city centre at 9am, travelling south to Foxton Locks.
