Women are being invited to put themselves forward to become the next Hinckley Carnival Queen.

A holiday will be on offer for the winner of the contest taking place at a gala evening at Hinckley's Greene King Stadium on May 27.

Tables for the black-tie event are on sale now at a cost of £27.50 per head, or £250 for 10.

All proceeds will go to the carnival fund and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

The evening will feature a three-course meal, a catwalk show, band and DJ. The audience will select the carnival queen and maids of honour.

Spokesman Kev Whelan said: "This year, we are looking for the girls to put themselves forward."
