That enabled Caterpillar to close to within six points with a game in hand as they dealt comfortably with Desford. Third-placed Sileby Town, who had no match, are nine points adrift with two games in hand.

Sam Taylor inflicted much of the damage on Imps as he scored twice in a goal-laden affair, Callum Keenan and Jack Brisco with the visitors' other goals.

Adam McNally ran the show at Desford, where he took his season's goal tally to 23 as he blasted a hat-trick in Caterpillar's 5-0 romp. Shaun Robinson and Leigh Wileman hit the others for the title challengers.

Highfield Rangers shared the points with Cottesmore Amateurs. The sides were locked at 1-1 at Gleneagles Avenue, Hamilton Gomez scoring for the home side, Harry Stannard with the Cottesmore goal.

Phil Gibson cracked home a treble, including a penalty, in Ashby Ivanhoe's 3-0 win over Saffron.

Sileby Saints, who are not quite clear of relegation trouble yet, claimed a useful point as they drew 0-0 at Dunton and Broughton Rangers.
